work trips, special events and announcements.
All are welcome to come on out on a hike to see what the club is all about.
A welcome sheet is handed out at every hike. This sheet has all you need to join and get on the mailing list.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3 – SHORT HIKE (5 MILES): This will be a loop hike around Lake Williams. The lake was drained in 2022 Hike Leader: Vanessa Xiao 703-40 SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10 – LONG HIKE (12 MILES): Long, loop hike. Caledonia State Park. Approximately 12 miles beginning Hike leader: Gwen Loose at (717) 891-9967. No calls or texts after 9 p.m. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 - 10:00AM - MEDIUM HIKE (6 MILES): Codorus State Park Ranger trails. Varied terrain, beautiful pine Hike Leader: Robin Ujcic-Snyder 717 873 4247 SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24 - MEMBERS ONLY ANNUAL TURKEY DINNER AND HIKE: Annual dues must be paid before the Event Location: JPJ Cabin, 1145 Furnace Rd., Airville, PA

for dam demolition, and upon the construction completed this spring, trails on the impacted sections are reconnected. It will take about
2 hours, with a couple of uphills for a total of 600 ft. elevation. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring water, snacks and a hiking pole if
needed.
Meeting Location: Lake Williams Hiking Loop (2889 South George Street)
Departure Time: 1:00 p.m.
at the end of Quarry Gap Rd. Hike follows the Appalachian Trail past Quarry Gap shelter and PATC’s Milesburn Cabin, connecting to
Rocky Knob Trail, then around the Chambersburg Reservoir on the Beaver Trail. Two good climbs, several rocky sections, one stream
crossing, and lots of rhododendrons. Bring lunch, snacks and water, good hiking shoes, and dress in layers.
Meeting Location: Woodberry
Road parking 8 a.m. or end of Quarry Gap Rd. at 9 a.m.

area, off Sinsheim road. Entrance sign says Main Launch. Also says Band Shell, Horse Trail parking, and
Pavilion 3 on the same sign. Go all the way to the stop sign at the end and meet at the parking lot there.
Do NOT use GPS to find - it will send you to the park office. Please call or text if you need directions.

Note: Hunting on Sunday is open that day - deer/ archery. While I believe this is a lesser used area for hunters, wearing orange is
recommended (not required)
dinner. Bernie Frick will take you on a morning hike up and down the hills to help you work up an appetite. Meal served at 1:30 p.m., hot
cider and cookies at 1:00. You must sign up in advance for the meal. We will need turkeys, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing,
cranberries, 2 to 3 kinds of vegetables, rolls, butter, desserts, cider, and cookies. Please call with your reservations and let me know what
you would like to bring. We always need folks to set up and clean up.
