Sunday, July 6: Short hike 5 miles on the Heritage Rail Trail from Brillhart Station to York College and back. This will be an upside-down hike because we will treat ourselves first and walk afterwards. In order to beat the summer heat let’s cool down at Perrydell Farm with some ice cream and continue with a fun evening hike. I think most of us know the route, it’s shaded and not strenuous. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, no hiking sticks required.

Meeting Time & Location: 4:00 p.m. at Perrydell Farm and Dairy, 90 Indian Rock Dam Road, York, PA 17403

Hike Leader: Regina Haritos, 717-332-2221,

Sunday, July 13, Short Hike: Trail 5 Lake Redman, 5 miles
From the Sparton Road parking lot, we will walk on the road for a short distance to connect with trail #5 and enjoy a walk around part of Lake Redman, passing through the bird sanctuary toward the end of the hike. This hike has few short, mild climbs along the way. Come out and join us for a stroll through a very pretty area of York County. If the construction on the Log Road Bridge is finished, we’ll be able to complete the loop; if it’s not, we’ll turn back at the road or the construction site, depending on how long it takes to get there. If it is raining, please call ahead to confirm we are still on.

Meeting Time & Location: 9:00 AM at Lake Redman Parking, Sparton Road off Hess Farm Road

Hike Leaders: Kim Pavlick & Rafael Ruiz, 717-650-0253 or
