We will shuttle from York to Dauphin Park N Ride (about 30 miles), then from the Dauphin Park N Ride to the trailhead (about 5 miles). We’ll hike a short distance, cross the cable bridge, then head left on the pink trail, taking a right onto the blue blazed Sand Springs trail. This will be the toughest climb of the hike. As with all climbs, climb at your own pace and we’ll meet at the top for a break. At the top we have the option of visiting the South Mountain view. After that we’ll head down the other side and visit “The General”, then head back and cross a stream after which we’ll turn right onto the AT where we’ll hike about 3 miles to the Yellow Springs/Incline Plane area. We’ll take a right onto the incline plane for our second, smaller climb of the hike. At the top we’ll visit the Stone Tower, then head back down the red blazed Stone Tower trail which we’ll follow back to the trailhead. Bring water, lunch and good hiking shoes/boots. If you are going directly to the Dauphin Park N Ride, you must contact Kevin and let him know to expect you there.

Then we will just head back the way we came. No way to get lost, benches along the way to sit if you don’t want to do the full 5 1/2 miles.
