SATURDAY, MARCH 2, AT TRAIL MAINTENENACE, Distance 6 miles: The purpose of this hike is two-fold: First to introduce people to our section of the AT on Peters Mountain. The second is to inventory what needs to be done so we can have a Trails Committee meeting and plan our work. We will place cars down at the river end on our section and then shuttle up to the top. Please bring a mask for the shuttle. Also, bring loppers and hand saw, if you have them, to do some light work on the trail.

SUNDAY, MARCH 10: SHORT HIKE (3 MILES): From the Sparton Road parking lot, we will walk on the road for a short distance to connect with trail #5 and enjoy a walk around part of Lake Redman, passing through the bird sanctuary toward the end of the hike. This hike has a
few short, mild climbs along the way. Come out and join us for a stroll through a very pretty area of York County. If it is raining, please call ahead to confirm we are still on.

FRIDAY, MARCH 15, COVERED DISH DINNER AND WALES HIKING TRIP: Gwen Loose and Bernie Frick
hiking trip in Wales with the Keystone Trail Association. This will be at the York Township Park Building.at 25 Oak Street at 6:30 to 9PM. Bring a covered dish to share with others.

SUNDAY, MARCH 17: MEDIUM HIKE (9 MILES): Catoctin Mountain Extended Loop Trail near Thurmont, Maryland. The trail is a challenging trail, and we will be doing the whole trail. Bring lunch, water, and sturdy hiking boots. Hiking poles are recommended as well.

SATURDAY, MARCH 23: MEDIUM HIKE (6.5 MILES): This will be a 6 ˝ mile shuttle hike on the Rail Trail. We will meet at Indian Rock Elementary School – 1500 Indian Rock Dam Road, York, PA 17403, and shuttle to Glatfelter Station where we start the hike back to Indian Rock Dam. Let us hope for a wonderful spring day, great turn out, lively conversation, and connecting with new and old friends. Bring a snack and water – no special hiking gear required.

SUNDAY, MARCH 24: SHORT HIKE (3 or 4 MILES): Well, if we do not have a late Winter Blizzard, we will do a 3- or 4-mile hike. This will be an up and back and certainly not difficult, easy for me to say. Now it is called Lake Williams, assuming there is water in this alleged area.

SUNDAY, MARCH 24: LONG HIKE (10 MILES) This is a beautiful hike along Muddy Creek in southern York County north of Delta, on the Mason-Dixon Trail. It is of moderate difficulty, but the trail is very well-maintained. For more detailed information about this hike, check it out on All Trails, “Mason-Dixon Trail and Muddy Creek.” We will have lunch, so pack a meal. I will bring a Pocket Rocket for anyone who wants to heat-up water for a drink or a meal.
