SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4 – LONG HIKE (8 or13 MILE OPTION): We’ll hike Patapsco State Park in the Marriottsville and Woodstock Areas on both sides of the river. The trails should be easy to moderate, and we’ll pass the cars around the 8-mile mark if you want to cut it short. Bring good hiking shoes, snacks, lunch, and water. If there’s been snow or ice, please bring traction devices, such as microspikes.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11 – MEDIUM HIKE (7 MILES): We will hike in Gunpowder Falls State Park along the Little Gunpowder Trail. We will cross the bridge on Pleasantville Road and hike up the river. The trail meanders from the river up to portions of the old Ma&Pa railroad bed. This hike is easy to moderate loop, and includes inclines, small stream crossing and lovely views of the river valley. Bring water, lunch and a Smile

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18 – LONG HIKE (8 – 10 MILES): Loop hiking in Pine Grove Furnace State Park including Pole Steeple, Laurel Lake, Civil War Explorers Camp, and Mountain Creek. Bring water, lunch, boots, and dress for weather. 

Meeting Location: Meet at Woodberry Road parking at 8:30 AM or Furnace Stack Pavilion parking lot at 9:30 AM.

The club needs club members to volunteer to help manage the York Hiking Club mission to create, promote, and encourage outdoor recreation, with emphasis on hiking.
